US assassinating Qassem Suleimani who was an Iranian major general in the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) and, from 1998 until his death, was commander of its Quds Force, was a conscious act of extreme hostility that has opened the mouth of a volcano of war in the central and west Asia. It has practically undone the Iran Nuclear Deal and has driven that country and its people to declared designs of vengeful retaliation. Trumps lame excuse that they did it as a necessary action to deter war is not at all credible.
